Everyone knows what a SJ advocate I am so here goes again.Picked up the new 3/16 from Andrew at blade on sat and I got to test er out today on some saplins and limbs.I must say that this SJ feels totally different than my 1/4.Its hands down better at chopping.I know what your thinkin, more weight equals better choppin.Well what I found by doing a comparison of chops between both SJ's,the 3/16 was penetrating deeper per chop.I can only conclude this was due to less resistance of the thinner blade,I felt there was a noticable difference esp. for a smaller blade.I also feel like my new SJ has a bit more belly than my 1/4 another plus for a skinner. Also the new SJ when held side to side seems just a tad wider, but no much. The handle also seems just a tad larger giving the best feel along with a more aggressive tread for hand bite. The overall feel of this knife I think is totally different from my 1/4.It seems to float more in the hand and swing faster, which also makes for a quick withdrawl from a snap cut or stab. All I can say about the holster is awesome, the new retention snap is vert tight and quick once you get used to it.There also is no chance of accidently cutting the snap by withdrawl from the sheath.I predict that unless Jerry patents this idea everyone will be copying it within the next couple of years. This knife is totally different from the old 1/4's and is a must have imo.You guys will be hearin of alot more praise and abuse in the near future.

Is there a price difference between the 1/4 and 3/16? Or is it just the new model, last time I checked Busse had it's specs listed as 1/4 thick:confused:

Thanks in advance:)

lightweight, they're still the same cost as what the SJ page shows but I think Jerry is doing them all in 3/16" now:cool:

I would assume with all the new models recently appearing that they're gonna update the site pretty soon:)
