Common issue, I had the same problem. I went with RC-4 with no regrets. It's not "too big" for anything unless you are going to EDC it, in which case it's borderline. Does everything else great. The RC-3 is a handy little knife with an excellent edge.

Both of you, pick one, you honestly can't go wrong either way. Tide, if you already have a HEST and want something different, I might look at the RC-4.
