This story was on the front page of my newspaper today.
http://www.southernillinoisan.com/rednews/2000/11/29/build/top/TOP001.html
A 61-year-old man was attacked by a buck while walking through the woods. He managed to kill it with a 3" bladed pocketknife. He himself escaped with only bruises.
My next order will by an 18" WWII with a smaller karda/chakma combo than usual (they'll be the same size as the utility knives that go with a 15" AK). This way, I'll have a karda that will be able to open up a deer for gutting without as much a risk of puncturing the stomach, and the smaller handles won't interfer with a quick draw should I need to bring the khukuri into play quickly.
