After the recent Pen Knife thread, I knew I had to get one. I placed an order on the website for a Pen Knife, 12" Siru (to keep me occupied while waiting for its soon-to-arrive larger brothers) and a Tarwal. A Tarwal? Yup. :) It was only after I'd placed the order that I noticed in the thread that the Pen Knives were sold out. I got a little worried.

Lo and behold, a package arrived today just after I returned from work. Inside was a 12" Siru with nicely figured horn, a Tarwal with an amazing chandan handle, and a handwritten letter from Yangdu explaining that my Pen Knife would be on the way just as soon as they were in and, by the way, my Tarwal has a chandan handle.

Consider me placated. :D This was definitely above and beyond in my eyes and is duly appreciated.

I was originally going to email this but I figured that praise ought to be public. Thank you Yangdu and Bill - again.

P.S. There wasn't a pin this time, but I'll let that slide. ;)

Spoiled rotten!

:D :p :footinmou

Gee... I'm just as happy when they include a flyer from Big 5. Over 48 years, the west's leading chain of sporting goods stores. Lessee... what was on sale 4 weeks ago... Mossberg pump shotgun with extra 18" barrel $219. :D

man, going from 0-80 pretty fast :D

12 siru to a tarwar... even i didnt go that far, and i owned a 43" gelbu style khukuri that weighed somewhere around 8 pounds  (still have the hi 30" ang... dont think im ever, EVER, going to sell that. just cant get it anywhere else)

id be interested in hearing your thoughts on the tarwar :)

the pins do rock :D:D

i was lucky enough to get a variant pin that has a spript flat under the khukuries (like on the american eagle images) that says nepal in red. and the blade shape is closer to a hanshee instead of an m43.

its a little thing, but it means a lot :D (i do have a crossed ang khola tat on my left arm  :D (HI ang khola too, inluding cho creep ;) )
