Bikermike,

Verry nice looking set. Is a heat treat required for the spike?

Not really, Its usually only used to pry knots out of rope and separate the strands to splice. Seams more important to have a polish so as not to snag threads on the rope. In fact a I have been told by one guy using one of my marlinespikes that I made it too pointy.:D That being said I have used the spike that I carry to drive a hole in a 55 gallon barrel. Hit it on the buffer when I got home and it was as good as new.

Thanks for the info Mike. A guy at work requested I make him a Bowsun's knife for use on his tug boat and your design is the first I have seen from a custom knife maker.
