I was in the local Target yesterday and saw that they had the blister pack with the Super Tinker and sharpener on closeout for $19.58. If I needed another SAK, I would be all over that.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

Jeff Clark said:MM, This is getting a bit off-topic, but the Salvation Army is a Protestant (not Catholic) religious organization, hence the "Salvation" in the name. This is moral and spiritual salvation rather than just helping to keep body and soul together. Hopefully most people know that they are contributing to an organization with a Christian message to go along with the material help. The background is a little closer to Methodism of the 19th century than Catholicism. It would be more straight-laced than an equivalent Catholic organizations. In particular they take a much dimmer view on drinking than the Catholics. http://www.bartleby.com/65/sa/Salvatio.html
I think you're right-the SA just got caught in the mix. Before the ban, the TArget closest to me had people in front of the store everyday, asking for handouts or signing petitions. Target must have had complaints from customers who were tired of having to run the gauntlet of sometime aggressive groups because their first step was to put up signs saying that Target did not endorse any of the groups. IMO, the worst and most aggressive people are the petition people.Droppoints said:I don't believe Target singled out the Salvation Army specifically. They wanted to prevent any and all other "Charities" from insisting (perhaps in court) that they should have equal access to Target's locations.
How about if PITA or "Citizens Against Gun Violence" insisted on being able to solicit contributions in front of every Target and argued, "well, you let the Salvation Army do it, why not us"?
It was a defensive move and the Salvation Army was the most obvious victim since they were there first.

I've also heard of people using it to move pots with wire handles.
