Hi Uncle Bill and everyone. I received my first H.I. Khukuri June of last year. It was a 15" AK and I am very pleased with both the appearance and performance of this knife it is nothing like the tourist quality junk I tried in the past. I have used the AK to cut down several 10-12" diameter hardwood trees with no damage to the knife you can still shave with the edge. Needless to say I have been very impressed, I look forward to adding more H.I. khukuris to my collection, the only problem I noticed with H.I. is deciding what to try next. In addition to providing a source for quality made khukuris Uncle Bill has provided a valuable source of information on both Nepal and the Kamis. Thanks Uncle. Until next time, Lamar

I'm impressed! Using a 15" khuk to cut down hardwood trees a foot in diameter takes real determination and a strong arm. I certainly enjoy chopping down trees with a khuk, but I have to admit that when it comes to trees much over six inches in width I reach for the ol' chainsaw.

I would suggest you look at a Ganga Ram special in the 2.5-3 LB range if you are tacking a lot of 10"-12" hardwood trees. It reduce the time and effort to chop through the trees signifgantly.

I normally use a chainsaw for trees this size, limiting my khukuri to smaller trees. I was curious as to how the AK would hold up,and I have to confess alot better than me. Thanks for the replies. and Uncle I can hardly wait to see the Katana.
