Not sure if I should post his here or in Maintenance, Tinkering & Embellishment...feel free to move it.
I just got my FFBM yesterday and it is very "toothy" and shaves effortlessly. I've never got a knife (6+ inch blade) THAT sharp after sharpening it using the sandpaper/mousepad method.
When sharpening a knife using the sandpaper/mousepad method, which grit do YOU stop at? Maybe I'm going too fine? Should I hit it with a leather strop afterward?
I also have a Fat GW which wasn't that sharp to begin with from the factory so I want to sharpen it. Which grits would you start and end with?
