this should probably be in Gadgets and Gear, but since so many of us knife toting, WS&S types use these, i put it here.

These bottles are made locally in Duncan BC, over on the Vancouver Island. small family owned and run company, very nice people.

The bottle 40 oz 304 food grade 18/8 SS, semi narrow mouth SS stopper with silicone O ring seal and heavy duty plastic ring top. The bottle is well made, and well finished. There is a seam visible on the inside (but not the outside) , like every other SS bottle. I have not boiled it in a fire yet but soon i will. There is enough of a lip at the top that one can grab it with two sticks out of a fire, or possibly lash a lanyard around the bottle neck for easy carry.
the 40 oz fits PERFECTLY into the water bottlepouch on the Maxped Jumbo bags....

dont have pics yet but their is a pic of the various models on their website: http://www.purica.com/purica_steel.htm

their smaller flasks have a caribiner clip tab and a little cup too! perfect me thinks for hauling whiskey! :D

the best part is i paid only $22 CDN$ at a local healthfood store for the 40 ozer, perfect for those of us on a budget!

i give it 10 out 10.

i think i saw these in a little health food store in north van couple months ago. the design, especially the "single walled flasks" on the website, seem identical to Klean Kanteen bottles. i wonder if they come from the same manufacturer or are rebranded?

nonetheless, i have the klean kanteen version if so, and it's an excellent bottle. i opted to get a blue one, so i won't be sticking it in a fire to boil water unless i absolutely need to. the klean kanteen website, http://www.kleankanteen.com/ has a faq somewhere that says that the non-painted versions are safe to boil water in, IIRC, and the painted versions can do the same if you don't mind the paint cracking. i got mine at the REI in seattle, but i think a lot of stores in BC (e.g. Valhalla Pure on Broadway) have started carrying them too.

$22CDN would make that about $20.60USD, which is in the ballpark for a 40 oz Klean Kanteen. I agree that the single-wall bottles look like rebadged KKs. That's not a bad thing. The KKs have been more than proven here and elsewhere as top-notch bottles. Good score!

I do not recognize their vacuum bottles, however. Those look really nice.
