if you could only buy 3 out of this bunch which would you buy
Being without income is tough, most of us know that from a first-hand look. If you're certain there's room in the budget for more knives now there's a few ways you could go. Why did you buy the Muskrat and the Pro Trapper? Because you liked them and will use them? There is no better reason than that for buying a knife, and you could use that as your guide. If you don't
like the knife, the price will never be right.
Buying knives as investments, especially at retail prices, may not be your best bet. On the other hand, paying a discounted retail for user knives from a friendly guy at the hardware store, which might cultivate future good deals, should be fun, and rewarding. (We all know you
really want to just pick up the display guts, feathers and all, and haul it home.)

You might try explaining your immediate circumstances and see if you could work out a layaway plan for all the knives that have caught your eye. Shoot, for a chance to get 'em all, I'd work for him for 2 weeks.
Everyone else here will likely answer your buying question in light of their own preferences, so I will too. I'm a sucker for Trappers, so that's what I'd buy. Others may correct me, but I don't think there are that many 94OT's in the stores anymore, I know I'd like to find one at a reasonable price around here. They were out of production for a couple of years, and are the OT partner to your 285. Can't go wrong with a Sharpie or a drop point hunt fixed blade for a hunting knife either, and you can never have too many little folders for your pockets or the whittling projects. So that's what I think you ought to buy. Oh, wait, that's all of them isn't it? Guess it's no wonder my kids are out picking up pop cans, eh?
Seriously, if you are interested in Schrade Knives, buy Robert Clemente's Book, "A catalogue History of Schrade Knives". It will set you back less than most of those knives would, and will give you a lot of information. Robert's a great guy, his email address is
