Inspired by all the threads on here I decided to strip my Izula today :D

The stripper sucked because it was the all natural indoor safe crap, but I live in an apt here in manhattan so really didnt have a choice - with a little scotchbright scrubbin the coating finally came off. Forced a patina with mustard and BBQ sauce with decent results - if I had sanded with some paper I think I would have seen much better results.

Overall I think it looks absolutely AWESOME and the pics do not do it justice - its a nice gun metal gray and with the micarta scales it just looks sick - like a knife that has seen years and years of use :D

I highly encourage you guys to take a leap and give it a shot :thumbup::thumbup:

Looks good man.

I may just have to do this to my Izula, very tempting.

Thanks guys - I'll try to snap some better pics in the sunlight today

Something else that I never considered was how nice the blade feels now - the powder coat I guess seems a bit slippery but with it stripped your hands just lock onto the metal.

thanks guys - put some non-camera phone pics up in the original post :D

I think my RC3mil is next...
