I've looked and looked around here and I just can't find what I'm looking for.

Criteria:

Folder
Tough
No longer than 3.5" blade
Weight isn't really an issue
No serrations
No black blade coating
No liner lock (really like the Axis lock)
A different blade shape. Meaning no sheepsfoots, etc. something "different" looking, yet utilitarian.
$200 budget
G10 scales are a huge plus - preferably no FRN.

I think I've covered everything...... If I'm missing something to help weed out the list, let me know.

Thanks everyone.

Hogue Ex01 3.5 in tanto or Drop point. around 150 to 180. The button lock is great I've been EDCing a tanto version since X-Mas week and I just cannot get it out of my pocket all thoe the BM 300sn and Sothard are both due in next week. They are 100% us made and designed by Elishewitz. They come in aluminum or G-10 handles. It was the sharpest production knive I've ever owned out of the box it came with a hair witteling polished edge. Here are the specs. And this push button lock is very well done only thing im not crazy about is the lock that lockes the button lock in the open potion when the knife is locked up you do not really need it but I've just got used to it. I like the pocket clip too its classic Elishewitz spoon shape and very easy in and out of the pocket but has a good amount of retention. Fun EDC blade and a bit differnt looking with the push button lock and the G-mascus.

Blade Length: 3.5" and 4" Handel Material (Frame): G10, G-Mascus or 6061-T6511 Anodized Aluminum
Blade Thickness: 0.15" Overall Length: 8" and 8.875"
Blade Material: 154CM Stainless Steel Closed Length: 4.5" and 4.875"
Blade Hardness: RC 57-59 Weight Aluminum: 4.6oz (3.5") and 5.6oz (4")
Blade Treatment: Cryogenically Treated Weight G10: 4.3oz (3.5") and 5.1oz (4")
Blade finish: Stone-Tumbled
Blade Style: Drop-Point and Tanto with Ambi Thumb-Studs
Pocket Clip: Stainless Steel Spoon, Reversible
Locking Mechanism: Push-Button with Manual Safety

If that does not tickle your fancy go with the ol' stand by in the Sage 2 Ti-frame lock FFg s30v blade great light duty EDC. Its light and a frame lock made to honor Chris Revees and his invotations in the Knife world. Its Not U.S. made but the F&F is spot on built to the best standards you would except from Spyderco.

Take a look at the Spyderco DiAlex Junior...

The Benchmade Triage fits a lot of your criteria.

Manix 2
Paramilitary 2
Hogue EX-01
ZT 550
you could get some G10 scales for a mini-grip

My local shop didn't have one in stock, so I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like you described a BM 300SN to me.

Other than the fairly typical blade shape the ZT 0550 meets all of your requirements. Mine was my most frequently carried knife until my Gayle Bradley showed up.

Since you like the Axis lock take a look at the Bone Collector. The blade is pretty much a sheepsfoot but it meets all of your other criteria.

You guys are awesome! Thanks so much. Lots to research. So far, I'm digging that Benchmade 300SN.

If you don't mind a frame lock:
ZT 0550
Benchmade 755 MPR
Spyderco Chokwe
Spyderco Techno

Different locking mechanisms:
Spyderco Native 5
Spyderco Manix 2
Benchmade Mini Onslaught
Spyderco Paramilitary 2
Spyderco Superleaf
