Another super-steel knife recommendation

Hi everyone, so my requests are back again! This time I have a nice wad of cash and I'm willing to spend it. I'm looking for an edc knife with the best steel possible. I want to stay around 3 inches give or take and I want it to hold the sharpest edge possible for as long as possible. So far I've been looking at knives with zdp-189, m390, and s90v &s110v. What can you recommend? Oh and try to keep me around $200 if you can.
Thanks!

I think you've got it covered, it's a matter of finding the knife most suited for your needs. All the steels you listed will perform the way you want it to. Most of the fun is hunting for the knife of choice.

If you want a low cost option, look at the Manix 2 lightweight in S110V, probably the best bang for the buck you'll find.

In that size I might look at the M390 Ritter Mini Grips. That's really all I can think of with any of those steels in that size and price range. It's a great little knife (I have an orange S30V) and an awesome deal.

Here is a link to Ankerson's list of steels, based on cutting manila rope, as well as cardboard and wood.
By far, the best I've found.
Sure, I love ZDP blades also, but they do fall short of others you have listed. Note that you can find a Spyderco Southard manual flipper with 204P steel for much less than $200 at various knife-shops. Very smooth folder...rather elegant. 3 1/2" blade.
Another great choice...Spyderco Gayle Bradley in CPM-M4 steel. Wonderful, heavy-duty capable folder, but 3 1/2" blade again.
I've owned multiples of each of these, including Spyderco Caly 3 series (your ZDP-189 @ 3" blades) and they are all great knives. The Caly series is ideal for office-carry as it has a slim profile but is a wonderful EDC. Also within your budget.:)

CPM 10v will outlast ( in edge retention) all the steels you listed. Spyderco uses it in the K2. Not sure about price however.
Hope this helps.

Hah yeah but that thing is massive! I don't think anyone uses 10V in a 3" blade, which is odd because that's where I'd like to see these super high carbide and hardness steels used, not in big knives.

Another thought, I think the Spyderco Delica had a ZDP sprint, you could try tracking one of those down for not much money. Classic design and very capable.

High level of sharpness or a low level? What do you want to do with the knife? Which knives and steels didn't perform to your needs?

There is only one production folder available in 10V, the K2.

I would say the Manix 2 LW in S110V would be what you are looking for. :)

Beginning sharpness is based on sharpening skill.

Fallkniven makes a few models fixed and folder in 3G steel. It is some seriously impressive shit. As long as you are looking around you should take a gander there too. I have the juni in 3G and it is wicked sharp and holds an edge like nothing I've seen
