Yeah that's right I had another surgery. Thought I would be done with them for a while after the gallbladder surgery.I had to go and round up a couple of Nubian goats a couple of weeks ago.Ended up clotheslining one of them snapping the tendon in my left arm and ripping the bicep loose.Had surgery Friday this one was really bad my arm hurts like a very bad toothache been sitting here on painkillers for the past couple days I was cleared to go back to work on light duty so I went yesterday to work a fundraiser that we had planned at the shelter. Probably shouldn't have my arm is really really been hurting bad ever since last night may just be part of what they did to repair it.I get the partial cast and wraps off next week and the stitches out hopefully the hardest part of it will be over then.Has really cut out the posting time on the Internet forms very hard to type one handed. Sorry for any hard to read sentences or typos trying the dictation thing on my phone to write this. Siri seems to have a little problem with Southern slang.

Well, if you have to be off recovering from surgery, I suppose the holidays are a good time for it.

Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Wish you the best for a speedy recovery

Heal quickly. I've had 9 surgeries in the past 10 years, ranging from hips to knees to back, all sports related injuries. Just have to ge take it easy, do your PT, and get back to doing the things you love! Sounds like you had a painful one.

I thought the main job description for goat roper was you gotta be smarter than the goat.... :p

Don't laugh too hard, it'll just make yer arm hurt worse. ;)

Get well soon brother, your knives are getting rusty waitin on you to heal up, shoot me a PM if you feel like talkin Bussekin or anything else! :)

I was the village shaman in my past life... I recommend an ice cold beer or two to wash down your "medication". Speedy recovery and a Happy holiday

I have a friend who had the same kind of injury from grabbing a closing gate. As I get older, crap like that scares me. It happens in the blink of an eye before you have time to think about it.

Hope you recover 100%.

They say it is more common in men in their late 40s. Rare in the lower arm vs the upper arm. It did happen in the blink of an eye. Felt good last night for a couple hours but then the pain returned and had another bad night trying to sleep. This wrap and cast thing is driving me nuts, can't wait til the 13th to get it off. The bad thing is the pain in all the parts of my arm that didn't hurt before. Only thing I can think of that when he reattached the tendon it tightened all the other ones running down my arm. Even the ones in my fingers seem tight.

Smoke and prayers up for you from NEPA, I understand how you feel, I had a third shoulder surgery in 2 years, they recently had to reattach my bicep and repair an already twice repaired rotator cuff. I love your description of the pain Jeff :), "

Thats going to hurt awhile. Tendon and muscle tears take some time to heal and some seious physical therapy (which also hurts like the devil). Hope you heal quickly.

Dang, no surgeries ever until this year and now you're a surgery pro! You can probably be done now, though. No need to show off. :D

After the injury and the surgery, you're going to have a lot of inflammation in your arm. You'll get a lot of extra fluid built up around the muscles and tendons. This will pull everything tight for a while. It's going to take some time for the fluid to get reabsorbed into your bloodstream. The best thing for encouraging reabsorption is movement. Obviously, larger movements in your arm are restricted by the cast, but even wiggling your fingers will help.

Heal well.

What a relief! Got to wash my arm. Going to leave off the compression sleeve and brace while sitting here watching tv for a while to let my skin breath a little. Don't think I will have much trouble getting people to believe it was a grisly bear. The scares are going to be worse than I thought.
