I watched a Survival type movie that I've not heard mentioned here before called ' Far North '.
As films go I think this one contains the most knife related scenes than any I've seen and they are all ' real user ' knives not crazy Rambo variations.
Now before ya get too excited I didn't think the film was anything to shout about, quite an odd movie in fact, but if ya wanna see plenty of knife action check it out :

Pit, is this about some girl who goes home, father is dying or just ill health up in Alaska or Canada or somewhere out in the wilderness? I remember watching something like this about 10 years ago, wasn't a bad movie, great scenes outside of the wilderness, theme was a little weak. This might not be it, could have been another film.
Be safe.

Nah that must be a different film buddy !

It's been on TV a couple of times here recently. It started strongly enough but I soon lost interest and kicked over to a small bit of screen in the corner of my monitor so I could carry on working. The powder at the end was particularly damp.

Ok, from what I'm seeing, is it a love-triangle-with-disastrous-results-cum- indigenous-living-in-arctic conditions plotline?

Funny because back in the 80's there was maverick director here who did a film along those lines, but with three-orphaned-sisters-in-the-remote-mountains-meets-a-stranger theme! It was called "Virgin People" (yes, its got plenty of potential for porn but its more of a drama with erotic undertones :p). It was remade in the 2002 with hotter, more nubile, more scantily-clad starlets (ok gotta stop now before this turns into W&C fodder ;)).

A Pierre Woodman movie would have had an equally predictable yet more satisfying climax.

I check it out, thanks. There is another "survival" movie just released in select theaters recently. Plenty of knife action. Based on a true story. Not for the feint of heart. "127 Hours" :p

Put that on my list, Ill get it next. Thanks Pit. And a recommendation from me for a good one is "Dersu Uzala" No Knifes but a fine movie .

I only said there was lots of knife scenes in Far North, I never said it was a good movie, YMMV !:D

I love Dersu Uzala! Great movie. I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen at the George Eastman House.
