Another Svea 123 Question

Every time I hit the work bench, I get closer to the finish line of getting my dads old Svea 123 back into operation and cleaned up. Got it all cleaned and polished, put back together, getting fuel tonight, made a cup handle(still might change). The final thing to do is make the flame spreader. Do any owners know the type of metal used? Or does anyone know what I should use? I have access to a large shop filled with metal scraps for I will have lots to choose from. If I need a particular type of metal, is there a way to tell what it actually is?

It is brass same as the stove
