Ran across a different copy of the tang stamp year codes. Sorry about the quality. One of those garbage in, garbage out things.

What is interesting about this one is the 2002 alternate stamp to the anvil and the 2005 left side T for the non USA knives.

click it once and then again.

Yep Ratty,

I remember those. All of the newer date code list seem to have dropped them!

They did use different 2005 stamps for domestic (Idaho State Profile) and Import (Sideways T).

The only 2002 Buck I can find around here offhand, is the "Wild Bill Hickok" Tribute and it's an anvil.

Longbow, you have 7 ? This chart looks good to me . Its just like the one Joe H. put in the newsletter . I'm away from my notes so, I hope not at a deficiate . DM

Good Memory DM.

This is a scan of the chart in the May 2007 news letter. For some reason that page is almost totally faded in my copy.
I tried enhancing it some. Is the best I could do. Maybe some of you can give it a shot.

I always keep an eye out for the 2002 non anvil boxed U that would have otherwise been the 2002 stamp.

Am betting one with that stamp would be extremely rare, if one even exists.

What was Buck making offshore in 2002?

Only thing that comes to mind real fast, is the Diamondback fixed blades and a few others.

2005 is the year that sticks out in my mind for Buck imports, due to the release of the "370/380" imported slipjoints, since I tend to pay more attention to them.

I found a 2005 Metro I have with the l- date code. (Taiwan)

There are a lot of knives out there with the 2005 offshore stamp. I think mostly everyone has figured out that those didn't have the cash register :D but some years back, there was some cornfusion.

Thanks PR

I can never find this when I need it so I was able to copy to my Photobucket acct and will have it anywere a computer is avialable:thumbup:
