There have been some great "harpoon" variants of Steel Hearts and Satin Jacks over the years and the spine and overall geometry of the Tank Buster is SCREAMING for that. Just imagine the second ridge ground away so you had a sloping thumb ramp from the front of the slabs, blending into the rest of the spine out to the ridge where the swedge starts (or does NOT depending on how you option it).

I am in for several if you wanted to open the Tank Buster up to thousands more permutations

PULEEEEZE :(

HARPOON!!! Would be soooo cool!!And it would be a Tank Buster - no problem :D

I am no help with PhotoChopping. The Harpoon variants all had sort of a spade shaped tip. The TBTAC already has that really. Just eliminating the ridge that sort of makes another/distal thumb ramp would make it cleaner and more apparent. Will try to dig up some pics of those variants....

Still trying to find good pics. My understanding is knives like the Argonne Assaults had sort of a harpoon thing going on...

I'll go take a shower and mix another drink. ;):D
I'll be back!

Ok... so I'm lookin' on Bad Mojo and an actual "harpoon" grind might be more of a band cutter (or a short and deep bevel) grind follow by a clipped point that creates a harpoon grind on the spine but the appearance of that is what I am after... Still looking

edited to add... I don't want any more bevels, just an option to eliminate the middle spine ridge.

Here is a harpoon tip SFNO. This is one of LilFoo's pix(please let me know if you want me to take it down Foo)

I think the TBTAC will almost already have a harpoon tip.

I see what you mean. I like the original, but understand the desire to have less humps (on a knife).;):D

I'm thinkin' that Garth and I might need to drink this idea up tomorrow!!!!! . . . . I like it!!!!!!

Someone remind me when I'm sober!!!!

Jerry :D

I brought this idea up with Garth. . . . When I woke up 3 hours later with a Cabo Wabo bottle imprint on the left side of my forehead, I had the feeling that you're probably not gonna see this option offered on the Tank Buster. . . .

Some production managers get all bent out of shape when you suggest adding another few thousand options to the mix. . . . over sensitive Sally!!!!!
