Saw it on Dexter in the latest episode.

Awesome! Those Team Geminis are getting a lot of air time. Who ever thought they would be movie stars!

That Satin & Tigerhide TG Variant from Knoboganza is getting prettier & prettier.

Jerry must have given a box of TG's to a production company or something, these things are popping up everywhere!

When was this?! The only stabbing i remember in the last episode was the pot-farmer getting a pitchfork to the chest..

Overall, the TG is a pretty cool knife. But I can't see how useful it would be. It is not purpose-driven at all.

It has the general blade profile of a fighter, even having a fuller, but it is not pointy enough to be an effective stabber. It's not really long or heavy enough to be a worthwhile chopper. The blade is too thick to be an all around good woods/utility knife.

I think it's cool, but I don't see it being very practical.

Have you handled one? While I agree that it has no specific niche of excellence, overall it is a great workhorse knife. The tip is fairly pointy and I sure as hell don't ever want to find out how stabby it is the hard way. Mine are very sharp, especially the satin convexed ones, and do chop reasonably well and do very well being batonned through wood. Yes, it is thick, but not unreasonably so (although I will admit to craving a thinner stock version), but I have used it to feather sticks with a stock edge. This sucker will chop, slice, dig, pound (pommel strike), cut, hammer (with the spine,) and stab all day with no problems and although I have zero experience with processing game, surely it would do this well enough in the hands of someone more capable too.

Jaxx-- I was hoping you would tell me it sucked so I wouldn't feel compelled to buy one. Ha ha.

How thick it is?

Mines right at 1/4inch thick. It does work well for camp chores and chops better than you would think. On the other hand it came dull as a butter knife with an extremely thick edge. took quite a bit of work to get it sharp.

Haha! ;) :D Personally, I love 'em...but if that's what ya needs to hear well then...

...Someone else will have to tell ya! :D
The coated ones are .22" at the spine. Same thickness as the coated NMSFNO's...thinner than some Game Wardens, LOL. ;):D My satin ones are closer to .25", but with that convexed edge on them, they're freakin' lasers!

I have to agree with Flux about the Satin/Tigerhide Linen TG.

In regards to the title of this thread, I do not pick up any t.v. signal where I live yet I have noticed the same trend lately.

Saw it on Dexter...

But it sure is a relief to know I am not the only one with this problem.

Now I must patiently wait for season 6 to come out on DVD.

Bring on the Light Brigade with an optional convex (instead of hollow) grind! Mmmmm, blade heavy.
