hello WSS
Finished this one up today, gonna make the sheath tomorrow.
I really like this one.
Feels good, a bit on the larger knife side, but not huge.
I stabilized the handle material, I have Oak root, Vegi tanned leather, Rose wood and black linen Micarta...the butt is 5160. Everything is in house..completely.
Forged, filed, sanded, heat treated....this one was a bit of work on the handle...but it was worth it.
Anyways, here it is.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
Gene

sorry about the light, it was 8 when I finished.

Wow.............and wow again. Super nice. That has a very usable, practical design. Looks vintage already.

Thanks a bunch
Honestly, I work pretty hard making my knives look old...I do it with elbow grease and sweat. So, really, thanks a lot.

I love 'em brother, that peened butt plate turned out great :) I like your style a lot and can't wait to see what else develops!

I love the slight belly on this. And the peening is very very nice. It's definitely got a lot of character.

Thanks guys...finishing up a nice puukko like knife today...I will have pics tonight hopefully.

That is sweet! Very cool combo on the handle too. Can't way to see a daytime shot. :)

That came out awesome, I really like the shape of the handle  I really like your angled plunge lines, they set your blades apart as well. Nice work again man.

From the pic of the blade shape and ergo's, I can tell me she's gonna be a great user!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. Keeps me fired up!

Did you sell it?

Kinda...its going somewhere for some testing, I might get it back after, I might not...I will not know for sure, until the party in question gets it in hand.
The sheath is dry from the wet mold, and should be done later this week, I will finish the edge and final buff, and the sheath and get some day light pics for you guys.
I finished forging the parts for my "almost puukko" tonight, and shaped the handle...I will have some pics of that knife without the butt on it, in a couple minutes.

Gene

A puukko by Gene?! This I gotta see. :)

Hey, I said "Almost Puukko"..still no scandi, but the handle (which needs some more sanding tomorrow, and the butt cap) is very comfortable.
But here you go.

Wait till its done...I really like the ergo's on the handle..I might have to keep on this shape for a while. Very easy going in lots of grips.
