I ordered another one...at another vender, I can't wait to get it! They are getting hard to come by.

Good luck. The talon is a pretty cool knife. I never warmed up to the shape for what I usually do but it's still cool.

Hope this one turns out better for you and that you were able to get one before they dry up. I didn't get a chance to say it in your other thread but both of mine have/had minor chips in the edge due to the cross support pillar. I sent one that was worse (like 1/16" maybe) back to Kershaw and they re-profiled the blade and now it isn't an issue. It is so light in my other one that I don't really care. This one should tide you over until the 0750!

Thanks man....a friend of mine, has one and uses it for his EDC and he never said he had any issues like that....the chips can't be normal, did they come in like that?

And hell yeah...I'm waiting for the 0750! :D

I bought mine off of the exchange on here, so I can't be sure if this was the work of the previous owner, but mine has a tiny chip right where it hits the standoff. I guess that's a common problem with these knives. Oh well, I still love it. It's a fantastic EDC, I never expected it to have so much utility.

Well damn..I'll be sure to post up what happens with this one, but I will not keep a new knife with chip in it.

It's not a "common" problem. Glad you're enjoying your knife.

I'm not even sure if "chip" is the best thing to call it, but there is/was a small defect put on the edge due to contact on the pillar. On at least my second one it worked in over time and is barely noticeable. My first one I can't remeber but I knew to check my second then out of the box and it wasn't there. I'll see if I can get some pictures but it will be hard to see.

EDIT for pictures:

Picture 1, on top is the older to me Talon II with edge slightly reprofiled by Kershaw slightly less Hawkbill, slighlty more Wharncliffe. Bottom is my lightly used spare that current chip is smaller than what was on the first one:

Harder to focus edge on with a cat hair (why do cats always have to try to help you take pictures of stuff...)

Tried to get some pictures of the contact marks on the standoff pillars but couldn't get the focus to cooperate.

Thomas, no offense, but then did I just get really unlucky and get two that have have the (almost non-)issue? I'm enjoying them and you guys did a good job with the one that had the more noticeable "chip" I sent back. I still love these knives and can't wait to get the 0750.

Thanks for all the time and info....but I won't put up with that crap, if this one is any less then perfect it will be sent back and I won't look for this knife again.

Again...my friend has one and he never said anything about that, I'll see him sunday and I'll ask him if he's had any problems.

Like I said it wasn't there originally on my spare so it might happen over time closing the knife, and maybe I was really unlucky with getting two with the problem. I would really consider if it is going to bother you that much, don't give up on such a great knife, send it back to Kershaw and have them fix it. The slight change in profile removes the chance of contact with the standoff. Overall, on the second one I figured such a small imperfection would have zero impact on my use of the knife so I haven't sent it back.
