Its funny how life leads us where it does. The smallest things can cause you to turn one way or another. Anyone believe in manifest destiny? Karma? Fate? Will of God? Whatever you call it, there is something out there that guides us and directs us. I firmly believe that.
After Linda got back from her 10-days of travelling in the Carribean, she was a little different. I could tell things were clicking, whirring, and buzzing in her head, which is like a clockwork anyway. Her analytical brain was entertaining thoughts of us moving to North Carolina. Its funny, because it was my desire to move to NC last time, now she is the one who thinks our life will be better down there... for many reasons.
She spent all this time traveling with her mother, sister, and niece. Her Mother, Jackie, is aging along with her father, Ronnie, who live on the west coast of Florida. She understandibly wants to be close to them in their remaining years. Her sister, Rhonda, also lives on the west coast in FL, a couple hrs from Mom and Dad. Rhonda is recently widowed. Her husband, Adrian, was a 30-year Navy man. God bless him. Rhonda is lonely, and save for her last child leaving for college this fall in North Carolina (see where this is leading?), she is... alone. Not a good place for a 50 year old widow to be.
Rhonda has very little stipend from Uncle Sam, even Adrian's retirement is just not enough to support their very large house in Punta Gorda. The bottom line is that she will have to sell it and move to a more frugal area, hence the thoughts about NC. Linda, who is probably the most altruistic lady on the planet, save for Mother Theresa, wants us to move south so we can all become a closer family.
Our Daughter, grandkids, and son-in-law, live in NC out on the coast. Gravy!
The only drawback is my son, whom I love and cherish very much, has a very lucrative job here as an electrician. It is his thoughts that electrician's dont make squat in teh Southland, but I think he may warm to it if we do move.
Dang it! I have to make this happen. Linda can easily get a job in any hospital down there. I need only a space to put my equipment, and I am in business. What's the holdback? Nothing but selling our house, really.
Oh dang, I'm sorry for rambling on so.
