So this is my second two bladed barrel knife and my 4th Barrel Knife overall.

Damasteel, mostly known patterns and some unique factory patterns not released.
Bulloke with sterling silver

Closed overall 5" (125mm)
Open overall 8" (205mm) (large blade)
Large blade cutting length 3 1/8" (80mm)
Small blade cutting length 2 3/16" (55mm)

Barrel knives were originally patented in 1874 and sold and marketed as a folding knife that could not close on your hand, a locking, folding fixed blade if you will.
Google can show you more. Two bladed ones are quite rare.

Very nice work. I plan on attempting a barrel knife one of these days, I hope mine comes out half as good as yours.

Lovely work Corinkayaker, having made a few single blade ones I understand they are not as straightforward as people might think at first glance!
Did you machine the bolsters from a block or fabricate them from sheet? What size is the knife? It's not easy to judge from the images.
Anyway, again nice work

Thanks for the kind words guys! I am very pleased with this one.

Haha yes, they are pretty easy to make badly but not straight forward if you don’t want blade play and you want every thing nice and tight. ThIs one has about 30-40 hours in it. I am on my way to Melbourne Knife Show and it is in my bag, overall I would say 4 1/2”. Going to enter it in the show comp. will see how that goes for me. Two things have been modified since I took these pictures. I shortened the spring lock so it does not protrude over the small blade, but still works fine, and the stop pins have been domed.
If you mean the ferrules, These are hand formed on a mandrel from sterling silver sheet. They are made in two pieces to get the ends square. If you mean the sides of the carrier that holds the blade, these are made from Damasteel factory seconds strips I had. Custom pattern basically . The blades run on bronze bearings/pivots silver soldered to the carrier. The blades are ground to nest together with a few thou clearance. 0.009” washers.

I would love to see what you have made, if you have a link or send me some pictures? Would love to compare notes. Not many people make them!
I have another one on this forum that should come up in a search....

Sorry, yes I meant ferrules. Good luck at the show!

I found your other threads but thanks to Photo----it only this one has images. Again, nice work.

Here are my other two, both single blades.

The third one I've made top with an original 3 1/2" P.Holmberg bottom that I used as a guide.

The longer blade tang was to achieve as large a blade as possible relative to the handle.

Second one I made, a large one in Olive.
