Finally, a post that gets to stay!

Just got two new knives in trade and they are NICE! Not really customs, but handmade none the less. One is a Greco Knight and the other is an Ed Chavar Monocacy (I think). The Greco is typical of his work, but more stylish. His interpretation of a Persian, I think. The thing I don't like about his big knives, though, are the huge handles. They are about 2 inches too long for someone with hands my size. It's an interesting piece for a couple reasons: 1) Wood scales. 2) Pins instead of screws (and the pins are bead blasted, but you can't bead blast wood scales, so I wonder hot he did that?). Anyway, cool knife, and better fit and finish than his others I own.

The Chavar piece is REALLY outstanding. Looks like ATS-34 with a gorgeous satin finish, black G-10 scales and black Micarta pins, and a stainless steel thing hole tube. Overall a great knife. The stock is thinner than 1/8" and with the thin scales the thing just feels light as air! The sheath is a nice design, but I would prefer a G-Clip for versatility. Easily correctable! The fit and finish of the knife are nearly perfect, and anyone who says a "tactical" knife can't be classy obviously hasn't seen this one. For real self-defense use, though, the finish on the scales needs to be taken down. It feels like a good 400 grit finish or maybe a 600 grit, but 220 or 320 would be better for a more secure grip. Overall I love the lines of this knife, and I can see why Chavar is gaining popularity fast!
