Another type of belt pouch

I just received my first order from The Pouch and I am very impressed! These folks make tough neoprene carry pouches for everything from cell phones to laptop computers. Each one is made to order, so if you can send them dimensions for an item they can make a pouch that will fit it precisely, whatever it happens to be. You also get your choice of seven colors.

Their web site lists two options for attaching the pouches to a belt, but I wanted something different. I wrote to them asking if they could rig a pair of loops for horizontal belt carry (and gave them the dimensions of my belt). They responded promptly and helpfully that they could. There wasn't even an extra charge for that, although they had never done anything quite like it before.

I ordered two items: pouches for my Motorola T720 cell phone and for my Sony Clie PEG-T665C PDA. (I got the exact dimensions from the Motorola and Sony web sites.) Even though the items I ordered were both a bit unusual, because of the horizontal belt looops, they were made and shipped with a few days. Service was excellent throughout the process.

My pouches are beautifully made and perfectly fitted to both the items and to my belt. The PDA case is just a backup for when I'm not wearing my cargo pants, but the phone case has been in use since the day it arrived. It works much better than the various clips and holsters I've tried, providing protection, quick access, and low-profile carry.

I would recommend the folks at The Pouch to anyone who needs a case made for, well, just about anything (electronics, knives, survival gear, tools, whatever). These pouches serve well for both protection and general carry. And if you want something that isn't listed on their site just ask about it. I'm sure they can set you up with whatever you need.
