If this has alredy been discussed please let me know where some information may be found.

What is the story on blade play and pivot tightening regarding the umnumzaan?

On my sebenza 21 the tightness of the screws does not affect the blade action from what I can see.

Is this true of the new ball-pivot design on the umnumzaan?

Would you ever need to snug it down so to speak or to use lock-tight for any reason? Does it seem to 'stay adjusted'.

Is this new pivot any differnet than what is on a Strider SnG in those respects?

Please let me know. I am itchy to buy one but i am not 100% sure because of this matter?

The Umnumzaan does not have the bushings system that the Sebenza has. Minus the perforated washers, the pivot is made the same way as most any other knife, including the SNG. So yes, the pivot screw can be overtightened.

All the same, CRK F&F + huge pivot = no blade play, if it's done right.

Can't wait to get mine.

Most of the links i see on the web gush about how good it must be/is because of the CR origins.

I really hope its true because I am very close to taking the leap and getting one as a Sebenza companion. :)

If the sebenza is the Gold Standard, why did chris change the design, presuamably to be better, stronger, and easier to produce, w/o sacraficing quality.

I think it was to update and make the product like look current and less dated with new technology. perhaps they wanted to breach the 'tactical' market as well.

who know for sure. what is clear though is that the sebenza is a great product. the new one may be too but it may not outperform the old one.

i am not sure that a ball mechanism is easier to produce. its certainly more complicated form what i can tell.

Strength is tough because little is said about it except by one or two people here nor there.

I saw a post from a member who batoned an umnumzaan while splitting logs.

fair enough, and more of that sort of review would be better, but little is said on how it compares to a Sebenza.

where is money better spent?

They made it as a new Design so all you sebenza freaks would need one more ;)

Or Two :D
