Imagine you don't own any knives right now:eek:, but you've been given exactly $500 to spend on knives:thumbup:. What would you buy?

I would buy the following:
Zero Tolerance 0350 - $100
Spyderco Paramilitary 2 DLC - $110
Victorinox Craftsman - $45
Benchmade 915 Triage - $105
Spyderco Delica 4 Wave - $60
Spyderco Sharpmaker - $50
Ultra Fine stones for Sharmaker - $25

And I'm sure I could find something to spend the extra $5 on ;)

Spyderco Sharpmaker

coldsteel espada large g10

Hanwei tactical tanto

coldsteel laredo bowie

benchmade bedlam satin PE

probably would get a custom. Like one of Phill Hartsfield's smaller knives.(~500) then just use what I have around the house for sharpening equipment

course/reprofile - brick
medium - corrugated cardboard
fine - glass/ceramic mug
strop - my leather belt

+ 1 on the sharpmaker

to start i would say a delica and a fixed blade i am thinking swamprat or scrapyard. id still have around 250 to play with.

Looks to me like you have a good plan. I would stay with what you have. You are getting a great representation of knives from some great companies. Big +1 on the Sharpmaker. I've been collecting knives since I was 9 years old, and now 56 years old. When the Sharpmaker came out I started using it and still do. It's a great kit to have.

I'd buy a wood inlaid Sebenza 21 for $485. Some places have them at that price, some seem to have them for $510. It's a little strange.

Hmm this is a coincidence... Im getting my tax return in a few days and I will have just about that much to spend : ). Ill probably be getting the Umnumzaan

Hello,

Its funny I have a number of knives to choose from but I carry my Endura 4 more then anything. I really dont need any other knives but I keep buying more and more of them. If I had an extra $500 I would probably buy an Umnumzaan startac only because its the latest blade Ive been obsessing about. Will I buy it, probably. Will it see as much pocket time as my $60 Endura 4, probably not. Knives are my addiction.

Have a good one,

Chris

I think I would have a heart attack before I could order the first knife if I suddenly had $500 to spend ONLY on knives.
