Ive made several cord wrap/rough forged Bowies in the past few years for members of all branches of the Armed Services. This one is going to a new member of the USMC.

It is forged from 1095, with forge pitting, hammer marks and even a little crust left in tact. Differential heat treat using clay with a "scotchbrite" hamon polish.

Overall Length is 14-3/4", blade is 9-1/2 long x 2-1/2 wide. Was alot of fun to make, as there was VERY little grinding done (as you can see).

Thanks!

Wicked, Matt! 2.5 inches should work! I really like it. Ready for action.

God....i'd hate to be on the receiving end of that bad ass.

Great knife! You're one of my favorite makers.

That is definitely a mean lookin blade! I bet you get a lot of orders when the Marine brings that bad boy out!

Looks like it will be a great knife to use too.

Wicked!!!! aren't you straying into the USMC meat cleaver/brush hook category with that one?;):p

Awosme Matt. The forces of Evil will piss their pants when they see that, see it and die!

That's amazing!

That little bit of grinding and Scotchbrite polishing form some very clean lines.

thanks guys, jdm- this one definitely chops like a cleaver, as there is little to no distill taper, and plenty wide @ 2.5". The customer wanted maximum cutting performance/power for the overall size of the knife, hence keeping it very wide and full thickness all the way down the spine until you hit the clip.

the boots are my own, a fairly new pair of Danners.... my old pair was approaching 15 years old and starting to break down a bit. I reluctantly purchased a new pair as they were on sale at about 1/2 price ;)
