I've been looking for a good condition Miller Bros large rope knife for a few years, they are not rare but I wanted one in good condition and I finally found one.

Full blade, original edge, can still see factory finish on blade with some age staining. Great bone with a heavy stain, almost looks like tar.

I was actually a little surprised by how big it is, 4 3/4" with a massive feel to it.

Venerable heavyweight beauty John. I'll bet it's quite amazing to feel it in your hands. Congrats!

Very nice Augie, I don't have one but have been looking at one. Then at the Queen show during the rendezvous I came across one and was amazed at the heft and size. Ya got a nice one my friend:thumbsup:

That is awesome man. Not only are you knifing at a level I could only dream of but it looks like you found the retro version of the modern “cleaver blade” trend.

That is a really awesome knife though, congrats!

I really am quite envious - but I haven't been looking ;) Excellent find - beautiful knife that has history and can still make history. Good for you.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the comments. Paul T, Miller Bros did use brass screws to hold the handles on, mainly on their earlier knives, I think towards the end they used pins. They were in business from 1863 to 1926. This knife probably dates from late 1800's to WW1.

Thanks Paul, man this knife sure does have some heft to it.

Looks like it hasn't been cleaned or messed with, Augie!! That might be the best one still on the planet!!!
:)

That's the size a rope knife should be! Man, I like that a lot, and those aren't my normal fodder.

Holy smokes! That’s a huge pocket knife. When I read 4 3/4’s I was surprised. Whenever I saw the comparison pictures I was amazed, haha. Heck of a specimen.

That's a FINE knife, Augie! I had one of those a few years back, certainly not in that condition. I ended up trading it away.
