One of the things I really love is going out to visit makers and see what they are working on and how they do things. I purchased my first Des Horn about 20 years ago and I have been buying them ever since. Apart from being a wonderful knifemaker he and Linda are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and I am proud to be their friend.

About two weeks ago a collector mate of mine was here from the UK and we had a day out visiting Des and Linda at their home in Hermanus which is almost about as far South as you can go in Africa.

Des and I have been working on a new design for a utility folder called the Slimvubu and he had the first ones ready........here is a pic.

If you like Meteorite, this little knife has the best I have ever seen. No inclusions or flaws.........

Hermanus is a beautiful part of South Africa with amazing (and dangerous) marine life........

Looks like Des lives in paradise there in S. Africa! I've admired his knives for quite a while, but so far have not handled them.

I like the knives he is working on and the meteorite does like like quite a specimen.

Thanks for posting Steven,
Peter

Knifemaking heaven: Meticulous shop, paradise outside. No wonder he's so happy!

Thanks, Steven. I enjoy your visits, too!
