Went out today to do some photos for a friend who is putting together a brochure. Most of the photos I took today were for him but I did manage to play around a little on my own before I had to be back home. Went yesterday too...but not for long and very few pics. This is what the sky looked like yesterday...a lot better today though.

Lots of May-apple up, and the ferns are looking good.

The canopy is coming along well...won't be long till little light reaches the ground.

There are lots of butterflies and spiders around now.

Lots of our most prolific plant.

I had a new knife with me today, a Fallkniven A-1...this thing has an awesome edge. I did some chopping and whittling in some hard dead Dogwood.

Great photos!
Is that a rock in the tree line or is that's what's left of another tree?
I really like the way that looks. :-)

Thank you,

That's a rock, the first rock my oldest daughter ever climbed back when she was four. It's only about 14 feet high but looked higher when she was standing at the tip of it lol. That started a long habit of climbing rocks. Here is a side shot of it.

BTW, this is the knife that was riding on my pack. There was a lot of this fungus out.

:) Thank you for the side view. Yes, that rock screams climb me! LOL!
You live near a wonderful place my friend, very lucky.
 Very cool. I'm holding out for the larger model ESEE has. I borrowed my friends and it was love! There was nothing that knife couldn't do.

I plan on getting the fire kit soon, like yours after I order a few more AH-1 Arrowheads. Those little arrowheads are great & sharp! I through one with my hand and it not only stuck in a cardboard box but went through it and impaled on the other side with most of the tip sticking out the other end.
So yeah, you can hunt with it.

Yeah, I've been climbing it for a long time myself, one of my favorite places to sit and watch the squirrels, chipmunks, and listen to the birds.

Lol, which larger model?

I like the fire kit, bought a few of them now. I need to pick up a couple arrowheads to check out.

great to see you out, I really like the rock pic, looks like a great place to camp out, I always like the river shots around that area, no lack of water, good job!!!!!

Thanks guys, glad you like the pics.

Yeah, that used to be a favorite camping spot, had been years since I'd been there.

I've wanted to get a Fallkniven for a while, but I never seem to want to buy one. Always end up with something else..

And, I have to agree. The rock looks like something that would be cool to climb up.

Thanks for sharing those awesome photos. Great taste in knives too.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed the thread.

Yeah, That 3MIL has become nearly a constant companion, great little quick access field knife! I also love the looks, feel, edge, and weight distribution of the A-1. It handles like a dream, but I am surprised how quick the coating is coming off, nothing like the coating on the ESEE knives.

whoa. those are some really long legs on that spider! i'm very curious how it hunts it's prey. you seem to get a new knife on a fairly regular basis. do you have a bark river bravo-1? i'd be curious to read your first hand review of one.

The spider and the butterfly are on different leaves of the same type plant. If you look closely at the leaves you'll see other insects...I think the spider was eating.

I don't have ant B.R.s yet, but I think a Bravo-1 will be the first one I go for. I made a trade of some camping gear for the A-1...maybe I'll find a cool trade on a Bravo-1.

I like to get the "ESEE-6P-B or ESEE Junglas."
I have a friend that has the ESEE Junglas and allowed me to use it
on a camping trip... great knife! You feel like you can do any task that
comes up. Holds a great edge but you have to keep dry and well oiled
from rust.

I've been wanting to get the 6 next, but I'll probably get a few arrow heads first.
