another whacky question

OK I got my LB7 drop point today. I will post some pics. The question I have is: How was the LB7 DP box printed on the end? Did the box just read LB7 or was it marked LB7DP? I think the box I have is not an original but it reads LB7. Someone unfortunately wrote DP on the end. I would like to find an original box for it. The tang is stamped Uncle Henry Schrade+ LB7DP USA. Any information is greatly appreciated. I just started looking at these wonderful knives more in depth. Again, I will post pics.

Sometimes Schrade just added a white peel-n-stick to the end of a production box. Sometimes they used a white box with the peel-n-stick. Sometimes dealers like SMKW bought knives in bulk shipments (polybagged together in a large shipping box) and provided their own boxes. LB-7DP was not, as far as I can remember, a regular production knife like the LB-7. By far most you see were made for limited editions and SFO's like Larry V.'s fishing club knife.

I have a MIB LB7 DP I will try to find the box in my box storage totes and see what mine says.

Thanks for checking for me. I never seen an LB7DP new in box before so I am curious what the actual box looks like. I have a couple LB7 "Sharp Idea" boxes. I think my drop point might have come in one of these since it is a signature Uncle Henry blade.

Hedger,
I finally found the box I was looking for, it couldn't have been buried any deeper, lol. My box is just the regular grey/black "sharp-idea" box, but my loss certificate does state "LB7DP" that is the only difference out of all the papperwork and the box.

Hedger,

My LB7 DP box is a regular LB7 UH box with a peel-n-stick label on it. The label says DROP POINT.

And Hedger, this was not "another whacky question". It is questions like this that send us looking for answers that help us all know our Schrades just a little bit better.

Thanks again for all the great replies. I will get some pics of my LB7DP on here. I have the paperwork and was able to obtain a Sharp Idea box for it. BTW where do we Schrade guys get together on here to exchange our goodies like a club sort of thing? I'm thinking I will buy a membership as soon as I clear things up with the wife.

The only place we can sell or trade Schrades on BF.com is in the exchange forum. Upgraded membership is required to sell, but I think anyone can access and buy.
