I am always curious to see what people are working on. Right now i have an odd damascus cutlass, 3 kitchen knives, 3 damascus hunter types and a skinner.

These should be done within the next few weeks.
What do you have on your bench?

Nice looking mix of stuff Mike!!

Right now I got a batch of CPM-154 and 154CM fixed blades in various states of bevel grinding, some new bars of D2 for a couple brand new designs I'll be working on soon, and my first folder. Need to finish off the bevel grinding on the fixed blades so I can get them off to Peters for HT along with the folder blade. Going to grind the folder blade post heat treat on this one.

I also have a couple of minis I am working on as well, but they take up less room.

My first two knives....

The first I forged from a piece of 1080 3/16"x1"... It was a little thin to forge from, but I had no clue when I started... The plunge is almost non existent...:o I am waiting to finish my GIB then I'll finish it up and make it a kitchen slicer....:)

The second is a piece of 1084FG 1/4"x1-1/4".... It is a "slightly" dropped point hidden tang hunter for myself. It's getting a forged wrought guard and a Redwood burl handle from Mark...I made the ricasso Randallesque, a little long, but I'll have plenty of meat to set the guard on. The tang is a little thin too....

I forged it under the guidance of AC Richards... It's still in the forge finish... Going to start grinding it this week...Heat treat next Saturday.

What do you use the piston for?

What do you use the piston for?

I have a couple floating around the house and yard as ash trays for my cigars, or friends cigarettes. That one gets used as a small trash catcher and right now is collecting shavings from the drill press. When I am woring on a detailed piece, I don't like to get up and turn around to throw something away. Also makes a good heat sinc for when steel get hot, just lay the blade on my drill press table and put this on top it will cool down pretty quick.

I have 12ft of 1095 from Aldo that I'm cutting up for a bunch of small Japanese styled tanto neckers. Peter's Heat Treating, watch out!

Haha, how could you forget that one Mike? You forgot another one, but I won't bring that up..... I will get a photo up here a little later!

I've got 3 folders, 6 bushcraft style, 12 steak knives, two chef, 2 utility, and 3 thin steaks.

What other one did i forget? I have a few still fresh from the forge....A few that are just laying in a drawer...and who knows what else....lol

I'm still working on the forged blank I got from Nick Wheeler. Before leaving on my last business trip I sanded down one side of the bevel, and am looking forward to attacking the other side this weekend. I've already got the handle figured out for this one too, but will be spending a fair amount of time getting it right. And, of course, all handle decisions are subject to change without notice. ;)

OK so they are not exactly on my bench in this pic but they are now! Two are in different stages of further construction!
