ooooooooooooooooooh...today I got my Green Beret 7" from Knifeart!
as usual the deal with Knifeart went trouble free, and the knife is MAGNIFIQUE :D but I'm sure he will look more pretty in the incoming leather sheath from Chris Reeve! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...Christmas time

hahahahahahah thanks Bro! :D ;) and again, thanks because you had the courage to take your pen, write to our parlement and be one of them who fighted for our "knives" rights in Denmark!
shalom!

oliverplomion are you Dane?

If help me her:

I bought my Sebenza at Knifeart.com trouble free, with custom duties and all. But wasn’t sure if I was just lucky. Is it your first time?

Thanks

Commander

Hi Danish Viking!
well I live in Denmark (kolding)! I've now ordered quiet some times at knifeart.com (some Bob Dozier and a couple of Chris Reeve one piece range) and allways with great succes! Larry allways write a low amount on the customs and mark it as "Art object" so it prevent any curiosity from the customs. But I've experienced 2 times where the package were opened. One time from Knifecenter.com (they writed the real amount on the customs) and one time a private personne send me a knife and the post opened it!
If the package is send with USPS AIR EXPRESS as Larry do it will be handled by "Pakke-trans" and when open it's by the customs. If you have a "edged weapon permit" it go quiet trouble free.
If the package is send by Global Priority the post may open your package and then start the all show! The post services will then ask you an "autrization for import of edged weapon" and a bill of the knife. When they got all the papers and then only, they send all to the customs and you will have to pay fee for their work!
Recently a Dane from the BF got his Sebenza confiscate!
A friend of me ordered once a AFCK, the package was opened and he was charged for "unlegal import of edged weapon". He lost his Guns autorizations!
Drop me a mail if you want to know more, but to conclude even if my packages from knifeart were never opened, it's like the lotery!

:D :D

Hey Oliver-
Congrats on the great buy! The Green Beret is one SWEET blade. I have been eyeing one myself, only I want the 5.5 in. That blade size seems perfect for me, but I am sure that the 7 in. is great!
Enjoy

Oli, am I understanding this right? -- you can get away with importing a fixed blade easier than a tactical folder, a one-hand, locking knife, I mean? Or is it just that you personally have a permit for them?

Hi Benyamin!

You understand right, in Denmark you need a permit for all the fixed blade over 5". It's quiet easy to get, but all the one hand opened folder are 200% prohibited!
So actualy you can buy a 12 inch fixed blade but no way to even "own" a Spyderco delica... it's typical Danish... We're the only country in the world who ask a permit for own a fixed blade over 5"! Few can get a special autorization for one hand folder but it's only if you're knifemaker or stuff like that...and this autorization don't allow you to carry them...
For carry it's folder with max 2.75" only...

Not to hijack the thread, but speaking of white boxes arriving...............I had one arrive that contained a large Redwood Burl 2003 Sebenza!:D

Guess you could say I'm back home in Sebenza Land!!!  :D

Oli, Denmark's laws aren't unique in their illogic. We have states where you can get a Concealed Carry Permit for a pistol but it doesn't authorize you to carry an otherwise prohibited knife, like an auto.

Citizens are armed; subjects are not. Governments always work to blur the line ... :(

I use a 4" blade Sable III in the kitchen. A couple of days ago, I grabbed my 6" sissipuukko for a change. Cutting a carrot, I nipped my fingertip, just not used to that long a blade on the cutting board!

I know what you mean about the 5.5" seeming perfect. I have a CRK/Al Mar at that length and it is a BIG knife.

hehehehehe my Grand Father allways told me: "there is no government who like to have an armed population"...he was so right!
a rat is more peacefull without teeth!

Thanks Oliverplomion!

I am a "Falstring" (SE denmark) :D

Du you know anywhere i N GERMANY that sells CRK?

:) ;) :) ;) :) ;)

Danish Viking

not really in north Germany, I know some in France but as soon as CRK reach Europe you can be sure their price are at least 3 time what you can buy them for in USA! I saw a MkVI once in Paris for about 3200 Danish Kroner :grumpy: a Used one!Good to see one more Dane on the BF!
