I have a ZT 0350kw. A week ago or so, my torsion bar snapped. Actually, in the beginning I just thought the torsion bar rattled itself loose. All my screws were stripped trying to open the knife up because I have custom polished, contoured g10 scales on them (courtesy of our resident forumite, Phil Dobson), and the nuts had to be loctighted. Turns out I used a little too much blue loctight and stripped the screw heads (silly me). In the end I had to drill out the 2 screws on the handle and also the pivot screw. On the factory g10 scales, the pivot screw has the hexagonal cutout so it doesn't rotate freely. However, on a custom set of scales, it's damn hard to make a hexagonal cutout, so mine just had a hole cutout, which meant I had to use more loctight so I could tighten the pivot sufficiently. In the end, all the loctight makes for taking the knife apart rather difficult, however it's a necessary evil.

To wrap things up, I requested replacement bolts, nuts, and a torsion bar from ZT, and got an email reply within minutes. My hardware will be out in the mail in the next day or two.

Kudos to the customer service from Zero Tolerance.

If anyone wants to see the scales:

Good to hear. They have excellent service.

Could you tell me how you did the G10, I would like to do that to mine.
