Florida is wet and the lights are out in California.

Oregon is misserable, horrible, aweful... you don't want to come here. No.

The news interviewed a guy standing next to his giant SUV. He was really inconvenienced because of the blackouts. He had to go to three gas stations just so he could fill up to get home. First they raise the price of regular to $2.85 then they start messing with the traffic lights. What's next?

Power came back on about an hour ago.:D

Everything is ok here but there is alot of damage around town. Lots of downed trees, fences, sheds, mobile homes and the like. The biggest impact is probably the 1.2 million customers who have lost power and an overpass which collapsed over highway 836 (which is the primary route into Miami International Airport, and a very busy East West corridor). Unfortunately 4 people lost their lives to falling trees.

Local TV channel 7 (ABC) went down briefly when they lost power and their backup generator failed; then we lost cable (still waiting on that one).

There is nothing like sitting in the dark as the temperature and humidity climbs into the mid 90s. Been there, done that; you get to understand why the state had such a small population prior to the advent of air conditioning.

And it's raining bullets in Toronto! They're gunning each other down in droves.

To all my friends and neighbours back in Florida - stay safe, stay dry - and no, you don't have to water the plants on our patio this week. ;)

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Not another one of these damn things!
I hate to say it but I HOPE IT GOES SOMEPLACE ELSE LIKE MAYBE MEXICO! :D
We've had enough. There's still tons of crap layin around from the last two, it's disgusting.
You'd think the powers that be would hire outfits that would get the stuff cleaned up and outa here. Maybe take it to Alabam or Mississippi. :)
