Well the other day i was at wally world and decided to pick up a 110. My first by the way. As soon as i got in the car i opened the tin and pulled out the knife. At first glance you think what a bulky knife. However i love bigger knives.

The handle is one of the most comfortable handles i've ever held on to. It fits like a glove.

It was a little gunked up around the pivot but i'm gonna clean it out and re-lube it.

I'm in love with this knife. Deffinetly not my last 110:thumbup:

Mine came the same way. Here's what worked for me. I poured a generous amount of dish detergent into the pivot and worked the action. Then I held the pivot under hot running water, still working the action. After drying it out I lubed it with a drop of Miltec-1. Now its very smooth.

In a thread on this subject others mentioned flushing it out with spray lubricant, which I'm sure works just as well.

Every 110 I have owned new, standard or custom shop has had that black crap in the pivot, it comes out easy, but I wonder if it's let over buffing compound or some type of lube?

That was what 110`s were called.
I think all of mine are autos now.
Some factory and some converteted.
They were never that easy to open.

I picked up my Buck 110 at Academy Sports. They just put them on sale for around $21.50 with leather sheath. I paid $6 more than that two weeks ago.
Great price, great knife!!!
