This one was worth waiting for!!!

Jans did an absolutely beautiful job on this knife. It's remarkably comfortable for it's size, and looks fantastic. I very much appreciate the thin cutting edge. This baby slices like crazy!!! Add on a superbly crafted Kydex sheath, and the whole package is exceptional.

And if that weren't enough, my lizard skin leather sheath should be arriving in a few more days. :)

Buzz, That's a gorgeous little cutter you got there. Sweetness from end to end. The pattern of the steel in the blade is just stunning!!

How big is that knife? Cutting edge, overall? Material in the blade?

I had some good sunlight today, so I snapped off some more shots. A little sun makes a HUGE difference!!!

Danbo - The knife is not huge, but not so small that it's hard to hold. The cutting edge is about 2 1/2", and the handle is approximately 2 1/2" also. The handle seems much larger though, as the tang is also used to hold the knife. You get about a total of 3 3/8" inches of grip total. The grip is suprisingly comfortable and secure for it's size. The Snakewood scales are pretty beefy too, so you don't have the grip problems like you do on knives with particularly thin and non-contoured scales. The blade is twist damasteel, which is believe is another word for stainless damascus.

The Hybrid is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a fixed blade that was small enough for everyday carry, but not so large as to make me self-conscious about carrying it.

Actually, the ANSO is kind of a culmination of my knife collecting. My first exposure to high end knives was a couple years ago, reading an issue of Tactical Knives with a review of the ANSO Personal Sheepsfoot. I was literally blown away by that knife, and I was never able to get it out of my mind. When it came time to order a knife from Jens, I was naturally going to order a Personal Sheepsfoot, but something made me change my mind at the last minute. I figured that if I were going to take the plunge, I’d opt for something with the same unique design characteristics as the Personal Sheepsfoot, but with a slightly more versatile blade shape. The Hybrid was my choice, and I’m very happy with it. It’s got a great look to it, and also has a large amount of utility value.

Here's a shot of the Kydex sheath. The belt loop can be attached for either horizontal or vertical carry, or left off for neck carry. The holes are even spaced for a Tek-Lok, should you desire to use one. And as you can see, the distinctive tang hole holds the knife in the sheath like money in a vault. Jens is actually quite a sheath maker in his own right. The quality of the sheath is excellent.

What am I waiting for? I've got to get one of these ANSO blades for myself. Thanks for sharing.

I have an Anso DamaSheep that is exceptional. Mine in in Odin's Eye DamaSteel that turned out great. The small sheepsfoot blade is perfect for slicing out items from the newspaper and opening mail/packages etc. But I find it is absolutely great for use while doing knot work. Nice close, clean trims of line, plus is it a beauty to hold....mine is Ambonia Burl with both kydex and Lizard sheaths. I have been carrying mine everyday in my shirt pocket.

Mine looks like this with a different steel pattern (I have not entered the digital world)

Anso is a great maker. I have two of his scalpels coming soon, both wharncliffe style blades. I was inspired by Dawkind's post

Here are a couple pics of the lizard skin covered leather sheath. Superb!!!

Here's the back side of the sheath. It rides perfectly in the small of your back, and is thin enough to drop into your front pocket. Great versatility.

That's really a gorgeous little piece.., and I love Snakewood :) Very nice knife..., and also some great pictures...
