Hey guys. Just wondering what you guys have for replies to the usual questions.

1) why do you carry a knife?
2) why do you carry a weapon?
3) why do you have so many knives?

Any other questions you guys can think of you've been asked?

I guess these would be my choice responses.

1] I carry a knife so I can cut things. Plastic packaging, boxes, food... I find that many people around me will ask me if they can use it for some task.
2] I don't carry weapons. My knife is a tool.
3] I find the design of knives interesting, such as a 'car person' would find different automotive designs interesting. I have knives that are shaped differently, I own them due to the difference in cutting ability and / or aesthetics.

Pretty much what this Gentleman said.

1. To cut things.
2. I don't carry a weapon, it's a tool. It's a lot less dangerous than your car. So, why do you drive around in a weapon?
3. Because it is one of my hobbies. What are your hobbies?

1. Because it's a convenient and practical tool. Are you telling me you have never needed a knife for any daily task away from home?
2.Why do you drive one?
3.variety is the spice of life.

Reason I ask is because my dads friend asked me why I had so many knives and why I needed to carry one. I asked, how does she cut things in the kitchen? She said because I need to cut things. I said yup, me too :-) I then asked why the knives were larger than mine... She had no response :-)

A knife to cut things.
A weapon to defend myself, if necessary.
#3, because I like them.

1.
It has been a traditional tool of human beings for thousands and thousands of years. Coupled with self-awareness and a respect for life, it is extremely useful.

2.
a. It gives an enhanced feeling of safety, which to my knowledge is supposed to be granted by the Constitution and upheld by Law Enforcement. Sadly I do not feel this is done effectively in our world.
b. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
c. If a. and b. are not sufficient...there are still blood stains on the sidewalk of my apartment. I am certain there are dangerous people that live near me. As a concerned citizen and member of a family, I feel the need to arm myself.

3. See 1. and 2.

I agree with these responses. Handy tool and a collector piece as well.
