I thought I asked this before but I did search and couldn't find it.

Will it void my warranty if I anodize the frame lock on my 560 ?? (Using electricity. If that matters)

ANSWER Yes, because sometimes it can change the lockbar surface and change the lockup. They will try to fix any problem you may have, but they won't replace the part if they can't fix it

I also want to acid wash the blade a deeper color to look more like the new blackwashed version (impatient and can't wait. I will still buy a new 560bw when they come out. But I need some instant gratification. ) but I'm assuming that yes it would void that part. However could I still participate in the $30 blade replacement if I ever needed to??

ANSWER: Yes acid washing voids blade warranty, but NO it doesn't not mean you can't still participate in the blade replacement program. $30 dollars for ZT knives.

Thank you Kershaw/Zero Tolerance warranty service.

The anodizing and acid stonewashed won't void the warranty however if you screw up the anodizing/acid stonewash and it changes the lock up, or some othe random thing happens, that won't be cover under warranty. Basically you can take your knives apart and modify them, but if you screw that modification up, I won't be covered (they will probably just ask a small fee for the services if you void the warranty)

Make sure to post pics!

Just don't see how changing the color of the titanium would change the integrity of the metal to make a warranty void valid.

Think of it like this, at least they let you take it apart and cover more problems than most companies would even think of covering.
Is there another company out there that says they will let you anodize and still cover it under warranty? I only ask because I don't know?

There are no explicit warranty coverage conditions but under the ZT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) there's the following:

HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY KNIFE IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY?

Please provide your phone number and/or email address on your Warranty Service Form. If there is any problem with your coverage, we will call you to discuss your knife. Otherwise, we will repair your knife within our usual turnaround time.

If you have any questions, please contact Warranty Services directly at 1-800-325-2891 or email warrantyinfo@kai-usa.com
