Antbody Seen an "Explorer Swing Lock"? ( Pics)

I bought this knife a long time ago. I think it was about 10 or 15 years. I got it, opened and closed it for a while, then put it away and forgot about it.

On the left side of the blade it says "Explorer (Swing Lock) An F. Boyd design".
On the Right side is stamped "Pat. Pending 11-802 Japan". It has an unusual lock system (which is why I bought it) that uses springs, "L" shaped slots in the handle and six studs on the blade to hold it open or closed.

I've never seen another one like it and was wondering if any of you have.

The line of "Explorers" such as yours and some current blades on the market are imported from Japan by Gutmann. One example is the button lock type folder similar to the well known Gerber Paul knife. Perhaps Mr. Levine can help here.
