I was wondering if anyone can tell me there opinion on this material as a handle material? Is it sturdy? How easily does it crack? etc..

Thanks in advance.

Pronghorn, kudu, blesbok?

Do you have a specific horn in mind, because they all have slightly different characteristics, and some will crack more than others. Some are also fantastically more attractive to use for knife handles.

Sorry, but I have NEVER seen Pronghorn Antelope knife handles, or the material offered for sale. I don't know if there is a reason for that. You might try Shop Talk on the Knifemaker's Forum section. Good luck, and let us know what you find out.

I'm skeptical as to it's suitability for knifehandles. I've seen skulls, bones, antlers, and horns of all sorts of animals in the forest, desert, and mountains. It seems the antelope horn disintegrates very quickly. To find a decent horn you'd probably have to kill the animal yourself. Then you'd have to find some way of preserving the horn's condition.

That's my thought. I'd like to hear from anyone that's actually worked with antelope horn.
