Anthropological significant historic blade weapons

Is it possible to collect old historical blade weapons like swords, daggars, or knives? How expensive would would an old Damascus steel knife be to obtain? Why could I find more info ?

There are lots of relics available, but the trick is in finding items which are genuine. Fraud is certainly a big problem, but honest ignorance is not uncommon either.

He also has very interesting live auctions every few months or so. One needs to be very careful as the majority of antiquities on bay and such are fakes. I recently purchased a Roman knife handle from Dr. Bron Lipkin (do a google search) he sometimes has ancient blades and such.

These are antiquities and not antiques although Malter probably has stuff that is only a few hundred years old.

Antiquities exported before 1970 are legal to trade. (according to UN convention) Otherwise several restrictions apply.
