Anticipating my "first"

My 1st JK is in production. Going through the Christmas season with young children I was reminded what true anticipation is. This was the first year that our oldest really got what was happening and his excitement and anticipation was genuine and intense. It reminded me that as I've gotten older I have fewer and fewer things that I really anticipate with excitement. When we want something (and can afford it) we just get it. No fuss, no waiting, no real anticipation. This knife feels different and it's not just the wait (2 months seems like a short wait for a handmade knife). Now I'm not going to say the arrival of my first JK ranks on the list of all time "firsts", but I am excited.

I was excited to get my first JK - and I still get excited to see the next one.

The best things are those that continue to excite you and provide pleasure even after they are not new.

JK's are like that.

I can post now that I`m on lunch break. Ground it along with 5 other blades today, will be heat treating it tomorrow.

I felt the same way about mine. John and I discussed certain benefits when it comes to the functionality of a blade and being a newbie, he was very patient with my inexperience. With that said, I can guarantee that you will be MORE than pleased with the product that you receive. Congratulations on your decision. :)

Just thought I would post a couple of "teaser" pics to hold you over. It will ship Monday. My brother, who does my sheaths, will return to work on Friday. He has stitches in his ankle which prevented him from going to his basement to work, they are coming out Friday morning.

Camp & Trail, in ironwood, with both blue and white liners, and aluminum pins.

Nice! I like the multi colored liner treatment.

I hope your brother gets better soon!

Congratulations Young Curmudge' !
