Don't see as much action in the Randall section of BF so I thought I'd post a new topic for Incoming Randalls. I bought a #26 with Ironwood last week that I posted previously. I now have that one in possession. My new incomings include:

Randall Model 25-5 with Maple Burl: (sorry for the bad pics, I didn't take them)

Randall Model 25 Mini:

Here's another of the Model 26 with Ironwood:

Way to step it up Mr. Schilling - well played sir... :)

Thanks Melvin. I've been on a Randall binge lately. I just bought this one yesterday and should receive Monday. I generally prefer wood or unique inserts over stag but this stag was amazing so I couldn't pass it up.
I now have all the others in possession and will post better photos in the photo sections for those interested. I still wonder why there are not more Randall fans on BF.

Picked up a few special Randalls. Not yet in possession but soon.

First is #26 with #25 handle in dyed maple burl. I bought this from Rick Bowles (Randall scrimshaw artist).

Next one is very special to me. Rick Bowles offered to sell me one of his #25 flawless pre-ban elephant ivory. Then he also offered to sell me a matching #26 ivory that he will receive from Randall in Sept. For the past 15 years I have done remote wilderness Alaska raft trips with a group of guys. We do these trip without guides and literally charter a float plane to drop us in the wilderness so we can raft our way out. Well, Rick agreed to take back these two ivory Randalls and scrim Alaska scenes on them to commemorate my Alaska adventures. Although it will be next year before he does the work, I will cherish these two Randalls above all for the rest of my life. Until then, I will just admire the blank canvas and think about what art to have him do.

Wow, my story isn't nearly as cool.

I've been lusting after a Randall 15 for a while, but funds wouldn't allow it. My only requisite was it had to have a saw, and I've been hunting for it for a while. Today the stars aligned and I found a very poorly titled, no reserve auction, with very few hits, and I won. It should be here this week, and I can't wait. More pics to follow.

That #15 is a nice score! Before I began collecting Randall's I found a similar knife at a pawn shop. It was brand new but I didn't buy it because I didn't know what it was worth. When I called my buddy to ask if $225 was a good deal he told me to run back and buy it. Unfortunately, someone else beat me to it and I've been kicking myself ever since.

This showed up at my PO box today

Cool, another Anticipation thread! Here's the wood that's going to become my 26-4's handle...

Lone wolf, that is one fine piece of burl! Is it maple, box elder or calif buckeye? It looks a bit similar to the dyed maple burl #26 I just bought from Bowles.

That's going to make one very nice knife. Are you on the Randall five year wait list or a dealer's several month plan?

Now I've got a 2-5 inbound. I wasn't looking for a #2, but the Ironwood just grabbed me...

My grail Randall is here. Not what you'd expect, not even an old or rare one. Just the one I've been waiting for.......
