I am really excited about getting not one, but two Beckers delivered soon. My new FPR BK17 is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It will be my first Becker! I also ordered a BK11 which will be arriving on Saturday. I am so stoked. I am already planning on modding the BK11 this weekend. I have been researching the modifications and I want to try Clich's etching/patina technique. I plan on taking a lot of pictures of the etching process and I am eager to see how it all comes out. I also ordered some black reflective paracord to play with handle wrapping until I can figure out what to do for handles for the BK11. I don't plan on modding the BK17 since it looks so good the way it is and I really don't want to mess up the etching with Ethan Becker's signature. I am already planning future Becker purchases since I have been able to handle and work with a friend's Beckers and I fell in love with them. I also hope over time I can become one of the Beckerheads and I look forward to contributing to the forum.

Thank you for the welcome! My credit card is still well under the limit and I think there is room for a few more knives there...but my wife will probably expect some explain'n!
 
Excellent start. I'd add a 9 or a 4 to that batch, and you're good to go. Throw in a 5 for the wife if she likes to cook, and you'll be totally off the hook.
 
Remember, once you have established your collection somewhat and you need to explain another new box, "I traded for it, honey."
 
One great thing about getting older is not being anxious about when the latest knife will arrive. I almost always forget what's in transit and have a wonderful surprise when I open the box.
