What should one do to conserve older khuks you might purchase as part of a collection of antiques. For example, you obviously don't want to restore a brand new appearance but some things probably need doing, i.e. surface rust removal, general cleaning, applying something to dry and brittle leather (neats foot oil?).
I guess what I'm hoping for would be a "primer" of antique khukuri care and conservation with techniques and products (like scotch brite pads, steel wool, leather treatments, renaissance wax, etc.)
Thanks in advance!
