Hi all, I'm new here.

Just bought an old steamer trunk at a junk sale and it had a few interesting things inside. A camilus marlinspike knife with bone handle and the date 1916 on the blade with the Camillus name. The spike also has an odd symbol stamped onto it. It also has a third fold out implement that, as far as I can tell is for schucking oysters (stubby double edged thing that is not sharpened but is bevelled on the edges)?

Can anybody tell me if the date on the blade is the date of manufacture and what kind of knife I am looking at.

Thanks in advance.

The mystery blade is a can-opener. I located
our records that include drawings, manufacturing specifications and order cards.
I will gladly send you copies, without charge,if you provide me with a mailing
address. Tom Williams - Camillus Cutlery Co.
