I figure that anyone out there with the "fever" for traditional pocket knives who's like me also keeps at least a corner-of-the-eye lookout for pocket knife scores in hardware stores, flea markets, antique stores, etc.
My lady wanted to go to a big antique store/market yesterday and I quickly transformed from regular guy to Pocket Knife Hawk Man in no time flat. The place turned out to be a huge maze of small consignment stalls spread over two buildings. Deep, deep in my dig, I came across a small glass counter with about 20 old pieces. Nothing over $28, most about $10-$14. I got to handle a bunch and these were the two that I walked away with:

Both have fantastic pull and snap, no blade rub, no gaps, and seem to have been managed by an owner who knew how to sharpen and keep steel oily. I was particularly glad to find the Case. It's a 1977 6392 with deep dark bone handles. Big time patina and I'm not sure if I should clean up the blades or not. It looks quite old but is snappy and smooth:
Thanks for looking.
Feel free to share any lucky find pictures or tales you have.:thumbup:
