I patterned this knife after one of the Sheffield knives of the early 1800"s with the exception that I used damascus for the blade. I plan on doing more in carbon steel. The damascus is made from 1080 and 15N20 (192 layers) and the handle is bone. The blade is 9 1/2 inch with the OAL of 14 1/4 inch. I will get Chuck Ward to take some good pictures when I get the chance. Thanks, Lin :)

Stretching your legs eh? :) Great job Lin! That is one heck of a sweet bowie.

I really like the handle treatment on this knife. The blade is very nice as well. What does the sheath look like?

I plan on taking a class on silver sheaths next week. I hope to be able to build a leather sheath with a silver throat and tip. This knife is not a true reproduction of the early American knife, so it would do well with a nice Kenny Rowe made sheath. If I make a repro, the sheath has to be as much of a repro as the knife. Lin :)

Thanks guys. I've been making what passes for knives since Oct 02. I'm trying to stretch, though. :) Lin

Wow! Beautiful work, Lin. Beautiful damascus pattern, clean lines, tight fit... exceptional knife.
